Edward T. Hightower is the founder & CEO of Accra EV (GH) LTD & EV House LTD. He is on a mission to help commercialize and industrialize the premium electric car and pickup truck industry in Ghana. He is an EV OEM CEO, global automotive executive (Ford, BMW and GM), public company board director, and published author.
Edward T. Hightower is the founder & CEO of Accra EV (GH) LTD & EV House LTD. He previously served as the chief executive officer and president of Lordstown Motors Corp., a U.S.-based original equipment manufacturer of electric vehicles for the commercial fleet market. In 2022, he led the operational turnaround of the company, and the completion and launch of its first vehicle – the Endurance battery electric full-size pickup truck. In doing so, over 700 jobs were saved, and Endurance was selected as a finalist for 2023 North American Truck of the Year. Hightower also served as CEO of the electric vehicle design and engineering joint venture between Lordstown and Foxconn of Taiwan. Earlier, Hightower served in several senior new-product development, engineering, strategy, brand marketing, and P&L executive leadership roles between Ford, BMW, and GM. He also worked as a hands-on growth, strategy, operations, and M&A consultant at AlixPartners, LLP and Motoring Ventures LLC, which Hightower founded. Hightower authored the book Motoring Africa: Sustainable Automotive Industrialization, published in 2018. Based on his industry experiences in China, India, South Korea, Mexico and Brazil, Motoring Africa makes the case and offers an actionable roadmap for economic development by building sustainable automotive manufacturing businesses in six of the 54 countries in Africa. Originally from Chicago, Hightower earned a BS in General Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

At EV House Ltd, Chris brings his experience and strategic insight to the forefront of Ghana's growing electric vehicle market as the company introduces the Geely electric brand to local consumers and businesses. He has worked with globally recognized automotive brands including Renault, JAC, Hyundai, and Toyota, contributing to market entry strategies, vehicle launches, and the advancement of sustainable mobility solutions. His passion for innovation and cleaner transportation drives his commitment to delivering high-quality EV experiences in Ghana. Before fully transitioning into the automotive sector, Chris made his mark in advertising, leading campaigns and brand strategies across sectors such as telecommunications, FMCG, and real estate. This cross-industry background gives him a well-rounded perspective on market trends, customer engagement, and business growth. Chris is focused on making EV House Ltd a trusted name in Ghana's transition to electric vehicles—ensuring that customers not only drive the future, but understand it.
