How do I charge my electric vehicle?

It will be most convenient and cost efficient for you to charge your fleet EVs at your office or home using a standard wall outlet and portable charger (Level 1), or with a wall box (Level 2) charger. Both of these are included with the purchase of your vehicle from EV House LTD. These will likely meet most of your charging needs. If necessary, you can also charge at public charging stations.

How long does it take to charge your EVs?

Charging times vary based on vehicle and battery size, to what percentage you have run down the battery (your state of charge), and the charger type. A standard portable charger at your office, fleet depot, or home outlet may typically take overnight ~ 8–12 hours, while a Level 2 charger can do it in 4–6 hours. We recommend you top-up at your office, fleet depot, or home either every few days or every night if needed. DC fast charging at a public charging station can give you 80% in under an hour.

Can I charge my EV at home?

We recommend you top-up at your office, fleet depot, or home either every few days or every night if needed, with the Level 1 (standard GH wall outlet) or Level 2 (wall box) charger included with the purchase of your fleet EVs from EV House LTD.

How much does it cost to charge an EV in Ghana?

It depends on your electricity rate and battery size. On average, a full charge could cost between GHS 30–60, which is significantly cheaper than a full tank of petrol.

Can I install a charger at my office or home?

Yes. Use of the Level 1 (portable charger) that is included with the purchase of your fleet EV from EV House LTD requires no installation. Installation by an electrician of the Level 2 (wall box) charger that is included with the purchase of your fleet EV from EV House LTD is included.

How long does the battery last?

The life of the high voltage EV battery packs that drive your EV tend to exceed the life of the vehicle. 

Are EV's more expensive than petrol cars?

EV prices from the new manufacturers have now reached parity with petrol vehicles. In addition they are more affordable in the long term due to lower total operating (running and maintenance) costs.

How much money can I save by switching to an EV?

You can save thousands annually on fuel and maintenance. Electricity is cheaper than petrol or diesel. Also, EVs don't need oil changes, tune-ups or to have many of the typical petrol moving parts replaced.

Are there any government incentives for EVs in Ghana?

Ghana is working on supportive policies for EVs. Incentives vary. We'll guide you through what's currently available.

Is EV maintenance cheaper?

Yes. EVs are more efficient and have fewer parts than internal combustion engine cars. No oil changes, not tune-ups, fewer brake pad replacements, and less frequent servicing mean big savings.

How often does an EV need servicing?

Typically, once or twice a year, depending on your use case and use profile. EV servicing includes battery inspections, tire rotations, and potentially software updates.

Do EV's need oil changes?

No. EV's don't use engine oil, so you can skip oil changes completely, saving your company money.

Where can I service my EV in Ghana?

EV House LTD offers service to our customers either at your fleet depot location or our offices.

What kind of warranty do you offer?

We provide a 2-year vehicle / 50,000 km. limited warranty.

Are spare parts available locally?

Yes. Parts to service your EV are available from EV House LTD, either from our stock or through a quick turnaround from our relationship with the OEM (original equipment manufacturer).

What happens if I break down?

Repair service is offered directly from EV House LTD.

Where is your office located?

Our offices are located at the Ghana Automotive Center in the North Industrial area. We will soon open a new office in East Legon, Accra.

Are EVs really eco-friendly?

Yes. EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, reducing air pollution and greenhouse gases. They're a cleaner choice, especially when powered by renewable energy. Think of how much cleaner the air around Accra would be if even 10% of the vehicles in traffic transition to EVs.

Can EV's help reduce carbon emissions in Ghana?

Absolutely. With Ghana's mix of hydro and solar energy, EVs powered locally have a significantly lower carbon footprint than petrol and diesel-powered vehicles.

How do EVs perform on Ghanaian roads?

EVs offer excellent and instantaneous torque, making them suitable for Ghanaian traffic. Our models have high ground clearance and robust suspensions for Ghanaian road terrains.

Can I take my EV on long trips?

Yes. While our EVs are the perfect solution for your daily city use cases, with proper planning for charging, they may also be used for long trips. Our Geely Riddara RD6 EV pickup has a range of up to 424km on a full charge, and our Geely Geome Panda Mini compact EV has a range of up to 200km on a full charge.

What smart features are available?

Our EVs come with smart features like Bluetooth connectivity, regenerative braking – to capture and store energy in your battery while braking, keyless entry, and voice command in select models.

How can I schedule a test drive?

You can schedule a test drive online or by either calling us or booking via our website. We'll bring the car to you or welcome you at our office.

How do I place an order?

You can visit our office or call or e-mail us directly. We'll guide you through from ordering, to payment, to delivery.

How long does delivery take?

From order and payment to delivery takes approximately 10 weeks.
